Friday Fragments!

Friday Fragments?

It's that time of the week again for FRIDAY FRAGMENTS! The post that allows you to be as random as you like and share all those fragments that happened during your week. Head over to the originator of this fine post, Mrs. 4444's blog to read her fragments and link your fragments to her blog! Happy Fragmenting!

*Do you ever feel something on you and completely freak out thinking it's a bug, spider, or other creepy crawly only to realize that the tickling culprit is one of the stray hairs that you are shedding? Freaks me out! The worse is when said hair finagles it's way into your bra...fishing for that one is less than appropriate in public situations.

**I mowed last Sunday. I think I almost had a heat stroke. I started getting tunnel vision so I took off my shoes and socks outside and then proceeded inside where I took off the remainder of my clothing and laid on the kitchen floor. After thirty minutes or so I was able to resume mowing. Only to come across a dead bird! If you remember from the last time I mowed I found a snake skin. I guess our yard is becoming a pet cemetery! Wonder what I'll find next time???

***So, I've been noticing lately that the people who do captions on TV (mainly reality shows when it's hard to hear a conversation) have gotten really sloppy with spelling. I know I'm not always the greatest speller but that's why I use spell check religiously! These guys/girls not so much. I was watching some reality show about tempting spouses, fiances, etc. to cheat they they spelled definitely in the following way "definatelly." Come on! Did you not use spell check prior to putting that on NATIONAL TELEVISION?! The kicker was that they used the word definitely again later on and it was spelled correctly. Tisk Tisk editing! There was another show I was watching that also spelled a word wrong on the captions but I can't think of the name of the show or the misspelled word to save my life! I guess I need to take better notes.

****Speidi makes me sick. I literally would like to jump through the TV and punch them both in the face sometimes. They are so unbelievably ridiculous! I mean for real...did she NEED to constantly spray her dry shampoo every .25 seconds while in the jungle? No, the five other women there survived without it. Did he NEED to constantly proclaim how BIG of celebrities they are or how RICH AND FAMOUS they are? Definitely not! How conceited can you get...it's not like they are Brad and Angelina! My favorite part was when Heidi was going on and on about how she wanted to be a disciple, a "Mother Theresa", because really "it's not the riches you have on earth but the riches you have in heaven" or so she says after of course she yells at her sister for ruining her $10 thousand dollar purse. Yeah Heidi, keep telling yourself that your not obsessed with possessions and fame. The only other thing I want to say about this D-List, snobby, conceited, collagen filled couple is they deserved every bit of what Al Roker dished out. Good for you buddy!

*****Now onto my current favorite reality show...So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD). I was a little sad last night to see Ashley go, she's adorable and I feel that she is a much better dancer than she portrayed in her solo last night. And Max! I liked Max too...he was different and MAN could he move those legs!!! His solo was AWESOME and I couldn't believe they let him go. Even though I haven't formed any major attachments to any of the dancers yet I am starting really like a lot of these kiddos! The only thing that would complete my SYTYCD experience would be the sound guys taking Mary's mike down a notch (or five) when she does her "hot tamale" train squeal! Geeze!

Thanks for stopping by my fragments! Don't forget to head over to Mrs. 4444's blog to read her fragments and the fragments of others who link there! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

  1. What bugs me even more than seeing misspelled words on TV is when I get an email from a teacher or principal at my son's school and it has multiple errors. One principal used no punctuation at all and no capital letters. He separated thoughts with three little dots. My son is in high school this year and his homeroom teacher sent me an email this fall that had more works misspelled than spelled correctly. Like you, I am not perfect in grammar or spelling but I do expect a certain proficiency from the people educating my son.

  2. That's craziness! I would definitely expect more from your child's school!

  3. Hi, Mrs. Ski! I found you through Mrs. 4444. I agree about Mary Murphy's sqeal. She's out of control. Is there anyone out there who actually LIKES when she does that? I use my mute button liberally during SYTYCD.

Oh, and I completely agree about the lose hair thing. I can't believe I'm not bald with all the hair I find!

I wonder if the closed captions are typed by people or if they're generated by voice recognition software? I have no idea, but that would be my guess as to why the spelling is so horrible.

  4. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm glad that I'm not the only one that can trip over air. By the way, the loose hair thing...it creeps me out but I usually convince myself to be calm because it's only "hair" until I discover that it really is a bug! Ewww!

  5. Hydration, Woman!! I always drink at least a quart when I mow. Makes me a little nauseous (especially when knowingly running over toads), but it usually subsides...

Speidi-We watch that show as a family, too, and I love to hate those two, but they sure are fascinating, in a psychotic kind of way.

While I do love to edit (and find it quite relaxing, actually), other people's occasional typos (on blogs) don't bug me too much. I draw the line at advertisements/TV shows, though. YIKES! There are standards, People!!

Thanks for joining in this week :) Have a GREAT weekend!

  6. Great Fragments!! The hair... you don't know how many times I've fished for a stray down the front of my shirt!!! As far as Spencer and Heidi, I've never seen two people more full of themselves. There are just no words to describe the exasperation I feel!!
Thanks for stopping by. To answer your question, the little guy is wearing a cloth pocket diaper sample I got from e-bay, but I have others, too. I like it more than I thought. If you want more info, shoot me an e-mail!! Have a good week!!
